In the occasion of the inauguration of the C.A.L.V.I.N.O. exhibition on October, 5, ALL the venues were connected through a system of videoconference, so that the people visiting the exhibition in Urbino, Vilnius, Lodz, Poznan and Granada had the opportunity to greet each other. Some of them, being students having participated in the workshops, had the chance to see each other again, 4 months after the exciting experience of European mobility.
Now it is your turn to visit the exhibition, make sure to be there before closure! Choose here the nearest European city.
75 European Artists are going to be simultaneously exhibited in all the C.A.L.V.I.N.O. project venues. With 149 artistic projects and a significant number of 215 images, the exhibition of photography and engraving is a huge opportunity to go back to the image of our city, to the concept of urban space, to the experience of the relationships between the people who inhabit or cross the cities.
The success of the C.A.L.V.I.N.O.'s workshops of Urbino (IT), Vilnius (LT), Lodz (PL), Poznan (PL) and Granada (ES) can be measured in terms of numbers. In the occasion of the meeting of Poznan (23-24 July 2007) the partners have exchanged the works and every partner has gone back with the whole "CALVINO treasure". It consists of 149 artistic projects with a total amount of 215 images, generated by different techniques of engraving and photography.
The first C.A.L.V.I.N.O. workshops have started: last Monday, 7 May artists met in Granada, next Friday, 11 May they will meet in Poznan and next Monday, 14 May in Urbino. C.A.L.V.I.N.O. is gathering young photographers and engravers coming from Lithuania, Poland, Italy and Spain. The aim is to allow European artists to interpret the Cultural Heritage of the cities involved by means of photography and engraving in order to show a different and unusual vision of each city. The works produced are going to be selected and then exhibited at the same time in all the countries during 2007.
